The Corbel: Part IV

Posted on December 7, 2020 by admin

So I cleaned up my little gargoyle corbel…. my  “gorbel” as it will now officially be called, and then poured another. Can’t have a long shelf without something holding up both ends now, can we? I started a little acrylic paint wash on the guy trying to get him to look a bit old-ish, bronze-ish, gold-ish, or whatever-ish…. I will play around with that a bit more later but here is where he is at the moment compared to his old self.

So next I need to sand down the exposed wood blocking on the back of both pieces a little bit to get it flush for my mounting hardware. After that I need to get the other “gorbel” painted up to match the first one before finishing this whole corbel series up with a final mounting of these guys complete with shelves. Be back soon with the final adventure of Mr. Gorbel!
